Passing of Elder Robert Bondurant

Our senior elder Robert (Bob) Bondurant passed on 2/20/20.  He was the author of almost all the articles on this website..  The leadership of our fellowship of faith in the United States now falls to another elder.  Bob was passionate about serving Yahweh, and devoted countless hours to his studies.  He eagerly helped anyone who needed help understanding a scripture passage.  He willingly traveled to Kenya at the request of our now Elder John Rutere Mugo, who wished to be immersed in the name of salvation and to align his assembly with the Light of YahwehShua.  Bob traveled to Embu, Kenya, primarily at his own expense, where he baptized four new brothers and sisters and anointed an elder.

Those of us who remain are extremely grateful for his years with us.  He was kind, compassionate and generous.  We will always treasure his memory.

ABOUT THE NAME YAH'SHUA VS YAHWEHSHUA

The name Yah'shua comes from Hoshea.

Numbers 13:16 These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea [Hoshea (Deu 32:44)] the son of Nun Jehoshua [Heb:יהושוע  - same as Yah'shua -יהושע]. 

That means that Yah'shua is an expansion of the name Hoshea, which means "salvation" [re H#1954], from the root word "yasha" [H# 3467]. Making the meaning of Yah'shua [Yah-saves] the salvation of Yah. It is not a contraction of anything!

Why the extrapolation of His prophetic human name, as either a contraction or an expansion, is in error.

The name "Yah'shua" is the prophetic human name givien 5x for Messiah in Zechariah 3:1-9, plus 1x in Zechariah 6:11-13. The number five is associated with 'grace' [re Bullinger's notes on numbers], plus 1 time signifying 'unity', together equaling 6, the number of man. There is one truth: Yahweh Saves! Just as there is one Mikveh, one Faith, and one Kahal [congregation/Body], revealing that grace and truth are brought by Messiah [Jn 1:17].

Zechariah 14:9 And YAHWEH shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be united YAHWEH, and his name united.

Note: Y'shua/Yeshua cannot be the prophetic human name of Messiah, because:

1.   Y'shua [ישוע] Anglicized as Jeshua, is generic meaning “he is saved”, and is only used about 30 times in the entirety of the Hebrew scriptures, 28 of which are exclusive to the exile books of Ezra-Nehemiah, written nearly 900 years after the Exodus [13th century BCE]!

2.   Y'shua [ישוע] cannot be directly transliterated into Greek as it becomes ISOU, ISOUS, or ISON, all of which are the Greek words for 'equal'. Which is ironic, because it isn't!

3.   Y'shua [ישוע], which does not contain any linguistic link to The Father’s name, is not used in the prophetic passages of Zechariah which give us Messiah's name, [יהושע] Yah'shua.

4.   Yeshua is used in the LXX Greek [Iesou] but is not a transliteration of Yah'shua. [see LXX Nu 26:28]

5.   [ιεσου] Iesou (see #4) is not used anywhere in the N.T. Greek.

Why Messiah's prophetic human name cannot be the name of salvation:

1. Yahweh put all sin and iniquity on Messiah when He was crucified on the tree [xulon].

Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and YAHWEH hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. ... 10-12 Yet it pleased YAHWEH to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin....for he shall bear their iniquities... because he hath poured out his soul unto death....

2. He was defiled with (our) sin -- and He died IN (our) sin!

John 19:33 But when they came to Yah'shua, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: 34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

3. He became sin!

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin....

Literally: 2 Corinthians 5:21

The Greek text has no corresponding words in this verse for "to be"'. The addition of which weakens the force of the expressed intent: Messiah was made sin!

4. His blood was poured out [Jn 19:33; Isa 53:12] while He was still hanging on the tree, so not subject to resurrection because:

1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of Yahweh; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

When Messiah was resurrected He could manifest Himself as flesh and bones, but no blood.

Luke 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

Therefore, His prophetic human name was the name of flesh and blood, which was lower than the angels.

Psalm 8:5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. [+Heb 2:7]

Hebrews 2:9 But we see Yah'shua, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death….

5. He paid the full penalty of sin - not just death, but also that His name was blotted out of the book of life!

Deuteronomy 29:20 YAHWEH will not spare him, but then the anger of YAHWEH and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and YAHWEH shall blot out his name from under heaven.

That's TORAH!

Messiah's human name was blotted out of the book of life! There is no salvation in any human name!

Understand! Extrapolation of His prophetic human name "Yah'shua" to YahwehShua reduces the name YahwehShua to a human name, which is totally unscriptural, completely negating the sin offering – because putting sin on the name insures that it would be blotted out of the book of life! How can the name Life be blotted out of the book of life? That's insane! Yet that is the insanity that is religion!

For thousands of years the name of salvation was YAHWEH! Who has the authority to elevate the blotted-out name to be greater that the name of Eternity? No one!

Was Messiah ever called "YahwehShua" while He was flesh and blood?

No, but as the only-begotten son, and heir of the Father, He had the authority to USE Yahweh's name:

1. Because He is the "only begotten".

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 

2. He had the direct command of The Father.

John 10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

Messiah had the authority to speak the name Yahweh, which would condemn Him to death for blasphemy, and He had the authority be resurrected in the name Yahweh!

Yet it is the rejection of His resurrected name by the Pharisees that caused the alteration in the New Testament, which is exactly what happened!

Acts 4:16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
 17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. 18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of YahwehShua.

It is clear that the carnal minded religious establishment could not distinguish the difference between Messiah's resurrected name and His prophetic human name -

Peter and John refused to compromise!

Acts 4:19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of Elohiym to hearken unto you more than unto Elohiym, judge ye. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
 21 So when they [the religious establishment] had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified Elohiym [Yahweh] for that which was done.

The carnal minded religious establishment didn't give up, but kept trying to silence Messiah's resurrected name.

Acts 5:28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.

The truth is that Messiah's resurrected is not the name of flesh and blood, so not a man's name. 

Modern religion is exactly like the religious establishment of Messiah's day! They are against His resurrected name - YahwehShua!

So we have to ask: if His prophetic human name was so great, why does Torah say that it was to be blotted out? Who's blood atoned for sin? 

The truth is that the blood-sacrifice cannot be identified without His name! And that means that His human name could not be the name of salvation! Many deny Torah [Deu 29:20] when they say that His human name is the name of salvation! Why? Because it is the name that is defiled with (our) sins and iniquities. He had to have a NEW NAME!

YahwehShua

His resurrected name is the Name of Inheritance!

Hebrews 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent namethan they.

"By inheritance" means through death!

Hebrews 9: 16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

So the name of salvation could not be his birth name!

YAHWEH is the excellent name!

Psalm 148:13 Let them praise the name of YAHWEH: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven. [+Ps 8:9]

Messiah was raised in YAHWEH'S Name!

Psalm 89:24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name [Yahweh] shall his horn[power] be exalted [raised/resurrected].

The Apostle Paul confirms:

Romans 1:4 And declared to be the Son of Yahweh with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

"By the resurrection from the dead"! Not His human birth!

Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Messiah, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

He is Yahweh our Savior: YahwehShua!

Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith Yahweh, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to Yahweh.

Isaiah 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I YAHWEH? and there is no MightyOne else beside me; a just MightyOne and a Saviour; there is none beside me. 22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am (the) MightyOne, and there is none else. 23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

So Paul writes to the Philippians:

Phi 2:9 Wherefore Yahweh also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of YahwehShua every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that YahwehShua Messiah is Sovereign, to the glory of Yahweh the Father.

"That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him." -John 5:23

In addition, we should keep in mind that Messiah said that no man has ever seen or heard The Father, which means the Yahweh of the Hebrew scriptures is the same One that emptied Himself of His inherent power and headship to become our Redeemer and Savior!

That is His resurrected name that He INHERITED - YahwehShua!

And that makes His resurrected name the name of FAITH! 

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Why? Because it was removed from scripture:

Jeremiah 11:19 But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

His prophetic human name, Yah'shua [Ihsou-] was ALWAYS in the scripture [translations, notwithstanding!].

What name was removed? His resurrected name!

How so?

YahwehShua has 7 letters [יהוהשוע]

Yah'shua has six letters [יהו  שוע]

The removal of a single letter, the second [ה] from [יהוהשוע] YahwehShua changes it and becomes [יהו  שוע] Yah'shua, the name of the blood-sacrifice, the blotted-out name!

This is where the confusion comes in. Deleting the 2nd [ה] "hey" from the name YahwehShua is the only way Jeremiah 11:19 could be fulfilled while letting the name "Yah'shua" remain in the texts, so there would be absolutely no distinction between His resurrected name and His prophetic human name. That would subsequently be transliterated as His prophetic human name [Yah'shua/Ihsou] throughout the texts, then corrupted even further by the Latin IESOU which was used as the English base for Jesus/Yeshua. So Satan has deceived the whole world into believing that salvation is in the name of a man!

New Testament Usage of the name in mikveh [immersion] shows that there was only one name, the name of The Son, which also contained the full name of The Father.

Acts 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Sovereign YahwehShua.

Now look at this powerful statement:

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men,whereby we must be saved.

Many men had "Yah" as part of their name [Abiah, Aphiah, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Yah'shua (son of Nun) etc.], but none ever incorporated the full tetragram! However, Peter declares that the name of the resurrected Son is absolutely unique! "None other name under heaven"! No man ever bore the full tetragram [יהוה], the name YAHWEH, except Messiah at His resurrection! This also reveals that "Yah" is not the name of salvation. Only the full name, [יהוה] Yahweh applies! Do you want to be in the 1st resurrection? If you do, then isn’t it time to do mikveh [immersion] into YahwehShua Messiah?

Is Messiah's name Yeshua/Jesus?

Why be so concerned about a "name"?

Mat 24:4  And Yah'shua answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. [+Mk 13:6; Lk 21:8]
Mat 24:5  FOR MANY SHALL COME IN MY NAME, SAYING, I AM MESSIAH; and shall deceive many.

Mat 24:9  Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.10  And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.11  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Mat 24:24  For there shall arise false Messiahs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

And it is possible! All one has to do is examine what Paul tells the Thessalonians about the falling away.

2Th 2:2  That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Messiah is at hand.2Th 2:3  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 

2Th 2:4  Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called Elohiym, or that is worshipped; so that he as Yahweh sitteth in the temple of Yahweh, shewing himself that he is Elohiym. 

That is from within the body of believers, not pagianity!

Failure to understand this vital point regarding His name may lead many to the loss of their inheritance!

JESUS is not the Messiah or the Savior of the Bible. In fact, Jesus is a modern rendition of IESIUS, a son of Zeus. So there is no way that there is any salvation there.

Why do truth seekers believe that the son of Zeus is in any way connected to the scriptures? Because they have swallowed the lies and drank from the well of deception for so long that they are unable to comprehend real spiritual truth!

It's official! 

The official 2019 etymological definition of GOD, as given by the Church of Rome (aka the Roman Catholic Church), is that GOD is a demonic name, applicable to the name of Zeus, and has no etymological connection whatsoever to the name Yahweh! That does not stop them from equating God with Yahweh is other writings, leading an unsuspecting and trusting public to believe that there is no difference. Why should it be astonishing to discover that if Zeus is God, as they say, that a son of Zeus would also be the son of God?

And, who is it that tells you that JESUS is the name of the son of God? The same as those who tell you that Zeus is God!

There is a strong link to IESIUS, a son of Zeus! As you probably know, Zeus was also known as “Theos” and was worshiped widely throughout the ancient world as 'the eternal', 'the almighty', 'the creator', 'the lawgiver', and ' the father' of mankind. 

Ancient translators did not always make a distinction between Yahweh and the demonic world around them. In the letter of Aristeas, we are told that “Zeus is Theos”: 
“I have been at pains to discover, the God (Theos) who gave them their law is the God (Theos) who maintains your kingdom. They worship the same God (Theos) - the Lord and Creator of the Universe, as all other men, as we ourselves, O king, though we call him by different names, such as Zeus or Dis.”R.H. A Greek son of Zeus [Ancient Greek: Ζεύς, Zeús [zdeǔ̯s])], Iesius (aka Iesion/Iasion), [was the] son of Zeus and Electra [She was loved by Zeus and bore him two sons, Dardanos, ancestor of the Trojan royal family, and Iasion, founder of the Samothrakian Mysteries.(https://www.theoi.com/Nymphe/NympheElektra2.html)]. 
Iasion, aka Iesius, is easily Latinized into Iesus.

Understand: Christianity has given the definition of Jesus, intentionally distorting the Greek to support their "Jesus" doctrine.

Religionists say that...Iēsous ... ee-ay-sooce' (is) Of Hebrew origin...

Is it? Yes, it is, but what you are NOT being told is that it has nothing to do with the Messianic name!

Here's why

The truth is, there is NO "E" in Messiah's prophetic human name! The scriptural Greek H [η heta] is wrongfully DEFINED by Christians as an E [ε epsilon]. 

Ιησου is IH-SOU, that is, YH-ShUa, (NOT iesou). 

Ιησου, transliterated as YaH-ShUa because it is a Hebrew name, was not taken from the Greek New Testament, as you probably thought, but rather from the Messianic prophecy regarding the coming of the High Priest who will do away with sin. Zechariah 3:8! In fact, IHSOU including the grammatical variants of 'n' and 's' in this chapter, plus another time in chapter 6, is used 6 times. That was 5 times regarding Yahweh's grace, and one time regarding His unity of King and Priest! Six times shows that it is the number of man. Messiah's prophetic human name was given many centuries in advance!

The Hebrew is important!

Messiah's prophetic human name is [יהושׁע] Yah'shua! and is given 5 times in Zechariah 3:1-9 and one more time in Zechariah 6:11-13, 6 times in all, pertaining to The High Priest Who would obviate sin. 

[יהושׁע] Yah'shua is the only Hebrew name (out of 6) carried over into the New Testament that begins with [יה] YH yet maintains the [יה] YH/IH connection. That virtually screams “NOTICE THIS”!

Etymologically Yah'shua is from “Hosea” (see: Joshua 13:16). Hosea is from “yasha” [ישע – H3467]: A primitive root; properly to be open, wide or free, that is, (by implication) to be safe; causatively to free or succor: - < X at all, avenging, defend, deliver (-er), help, preserve, rescue, be safe, bring (having) salvation, save (-iour), get victory.

Yah'shua has no etymological connection to “Shua”, [שׁועא] Strong's #H7774, which means “wealth”. The prime word [שׁוע] “shua”, Strong's #7768, is a primitive root; properly to be free; but used only causatively and reflexively to halloo (for help, that is, freedom from some trouble): - cry (aloud, out), shout.

So to be directly honest, "shua", H7774, is not etymologically connected to the Messianic name!

[יהושׁע] is not “Yeshua”, if it were then [יה] as used in “Yah” and “Yahweh” would have to be “YEh” or “YEhweh” not “YH” as in Yah or Yahweh.

Y'shua/Yeshua [ישׁוע] is a general word for 'salvation', but only used as a name (Jeshua) about 30 times, 28 of which are in the exile books Ezra-Nehemiah. It is never used in any prophetic messianic scripture.

Y'shua/Yeshua [ישׁוע] cannot be directly transliterated into Greek, because ισου (isou/iso/isa & variants) are the Greek words for “equal” in both the Septuagint and Greek New Testament. This explains why Yahweh chose Greek to preserve the prophetic name of His Son, Yah'shua.

The Jews transliterated Yah'shua [יהושׁוע] & [יהושׁע] into Greek as Ιησου, which in English is IH-SOU, more than 200 times, and is always articulated as the original Hebrew, Yah'shua (aka Joshua) in spite of any English variations.

This also means that Ιησου (IHSOU), which is from the LXX, could not be a reference to the Christian "Jesus" because the Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures was done about 250 years BEFORE Messiah! 

Ιησου is the transliteration of YAHSHUA used more than 235 times in the LXX, evidenced by the singular transliteration of both spellings [יהושוע and יהושע], both of which are used in the same verse (Judges 2:7), also showing that [יהושוע] is articulated exactly the same as [יהושע], Yahshua! The fact that both the 6 letter spelling and the 5 letter spelling are transliterated the same seems to explain why many reject the Greek Texts – so they can create their own pronunciations. The Greek is proof that "Yahshua" is the correct articulation of the prophetic human name of Messiah.

And, as some already know, Yahweh's name also begins with [יה] YH. While it can not be scripturally proven that the name Yah'shua is an etymological derivation of the Tetragrammaton [which is another Christian DEFINITION], it is still clear that the Ιη [IH] in the Greek is equivalent to the YH of Hebrew, reinforcing Messiah's statement that He came in the authority of the Father (Jn 5:43).

Note also that Judges 2:7 in the LXX was a Jewish translation into Greek, not a translation done by Greeks! Certainly the Jews of 250 years before Messiah knew the correct articulation of the name, so rendering it into Greek letters to reflect the Hebrew articulation, Yahshua. It had nothing do with "Jesus"!

Many are hysterical over the Greek Ιησου (IHSOU). But understand – "Jesus" is a USER DEFINED word to uphold Christian theology! 

And, it doesn't even come from the scriptures, but from Greek mythology, as IESIUS was a son of Zeus (and Electra)! The Latins [*] dropped an "I" making it IESUS and that evolved into JESUS!
[*The first Latin translations of the Bible are collectively known as Vitus Latina. All of varying quality, they were eventually replaced by St. Jerome's Latin Vulgate in the 5th.century.]

Where's the beef?

Religionists have controlled the dialogue regarding the NAME, but the real issue is about WHO IS WORSHIPED, the Son of Zeus, or the Son of Yahweh!

A Conspiracy Theory!

Yet there could have been a "e" scripturally, if that is what was intended!

Again, about 250 years before Messiah, [Ιεσουα] Iesoua WAS USED!

In Genesis 46:17 Ιεσουα, aka Yeshua, is named as a son of Asher. So the Greek "E" (epsilon) WAS both known and used 250 years before Messiah, which means that it could have been used, but wasn't!

So the fact remains that Yahweh chose Greek to preserve the prophetic human name of His Son, Yah'shua, but did not use the Greek “ε” epsilon, in Messiah's name. 

Who stands to gain from such a serious omission of fact? Satan, of course!

Let's look at another verse:

The LXX in Numbers 26:28 uses Ιεσου (Iesou/Jesu) and the plural Ιεσουι (Jesuites)! That's another clear example of IESOU that has absolutely nothing to do with the Messianic name! However, no one bothers asking, "why"! An attempt to mislead truth seekers is clearly evident because the numbering system in the LXX is not identical to the English translations! The KJV places this verse at Numbers 26:44! That makes everything very difficult for the truth seeker to verify.

"In Christian circles, a number of different attempts were made over the centuries to subdivide the biblical books into smaller pieces for easier reference to specific passages, especially in the European schools of the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance. The system of chapters used today is usually credited to Stephen Langton, who served as Archbishop of Canterbury in the early 1200s, and their first use was in copies of the Latin Vulgate version. A 14th-century rabbi, Solomon ben Ishmael, seems to have adapted Langton’s chapter divisions for use in Hebrew Bibles, complementing the existing verse divisions in the Masoretic Text. New Testament verse divisions seem to have been introduced by Robert Estienne in the 1550s." The latest cool thing among religionists is to discard the Hebrew and Greek texts which prove that Messiah's prophetic human name is "Yahshua", to focus on Aramaic texts that were translations of Greek texts, around the third or fourth century. Do not be deceived, Aramaic texts are not "original" anything!They were translations. Also, they are copies of earlier Greek manuscripts,which must be presumed to be based on original and authoritative sources. Also, and this is important, the name [יהושע] "Yahshua" NEVER appears in ANY Aramaic manuscript! What is there is "IESU"! JUST LIKE THE LATIN! 

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if the Latin IESU is fraudulent then so is the Aramaic!

But to the deceived, this is their "baby", so they refuse to dump the lies about IESU [aka JESUS], which they say is "Yeshua", and lie to you about what is going on, insisting that they are the light of the world! 

Remember Yah'shua is the light! 

Joh 1:4  In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. 
Joh 1:5  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Joh 1:7  The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through Him might believe. 

Anyone that does some digging through these "Yeshua" websites will discover that their "Yeshua" is the same entity as the Christian Jesus! And I repeat: it is about WHO is being worshipped! Putting a yarmulke on the son of Zeus does not make him our savior! A couple years ago the digging was easy. But the deceivers have learned to bury the connection a lot deeper, so you just have to look harder.

What is Messiah's prophetic human name?

Millions believe that the savior’s name is “Jesus”, however, the name “Jesus” did not appear until the latter part of the 17th century, less than 400 years ago! In fact, the first Bible published in America to use the newly coined name “Jesus” was in John Eliot’s Algonquin Bible published in 1663:

If the name “Jesus” was not known prior to the 17th century, where did “Jesus” come from? It is a derivative of the Latin IESU which is from the Old Latin [pre-Latin Vulgate of Jerome, c. 385CE].

So where did the Old Latin “IESU” come from? According to scholars it came from the Greek New Testament. But, is that true? 

Looking at scriptural evidence, we need to question why there is no “ε/E” [epsilon] in the Messianic name in the Greek scriptures [see YAHSHUA below]. This is a major key to the origin of the name IESU.

The “E” Connection

While there was no “e” in Yah’shua, there was a deity called IESIUS, who was a son of the very popular Zeus, aka Theos. Since Zeus was considered the king of the gods since about 456BCE, it was natural for the son of Zeus, Iesius, to be considered the ‘son of God’ in light of the similarity of the New Testament writings because “Theos” and its cognitive words were already employed throughout both the LXX and the GNT. 

This syncretism was introduced about 270BCE when the LXX was being proposed.

The God of many names:

"Since the law which we wish not only to transcribe but also to translate belongs to the whole Jewish race, what justification shall we be able to find for our embassy while such vast numbers of them remain in a state of slavery in your kingdom? In the perfection and wealth of your clemency release those who are held in such miserable bondage, since as I have been at pains to discover, the God who gave them their law is the God who maintains your kingdom. Even today, Christianity still acknowledges Theos/Zeus as foundation of the name “God”! [Catholic Encyclopedia]

The Latins were also accustomed to taking foreign deities and altering their names to make them acceptable to the public [Demeter / St. Demetrios, Aphrodite / St. Aphrodite, Nike / Saint Nicholas, Mars / St. Martin, Venus / St. Venera & etc]. Plus, taking Iesius and shortening it to Iesus, was a very simple task, as there were no linguistic rules to prevent it. 

YAHSHUA:

Yah’shua is the same name as the Israelite General and aid to Moses, and the 6th book of the Bible, which has been Anglicized into “Joshua”, as the name of Messiah in the New Testament. 

Quoted ‘as is’ - KJV Acts 7:45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David; [King James Version]

Most newer translations at least say “Joshua”.

Quoted ‘as is’ - ASV Acts 7:45 Which also our fathers, in their turn, brought in with Joshua when they entered on the possession of the nations, that God thrust out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David; [Authorized Standard Version]

And a few “Sacred Name” translations actually get it right:

Quoted ‘as is’ - WoY Act 7:45  Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Yahshua into the possession of the Gentiles, whom Elohim drove out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David; [Word of Yahweh]

This shows that the name of the Israelite General and Messiah are the same [also see Hebrews 4:8].

Where did the name “Yah’shua” come from?  

The prophetic text that actually names Messiah can be found in Zechariah 3:1-9 which tells us [5 times] that His name is [יהוֻשע] Yah'shua in relation to His work of redemption, plus 1 more time in Zech 6:11-13 referring to His combined priesthood and kingship, for a total of 6 times. [For more information on the spiritual significance of numbers 1, 5, and 6, see Bullinger’s Appendix #10]

What is the [ֻ  ] diacritical mark for? It’s a replacement for a second ‘waw’ [ו]: יהושוע.

Why is it important? Because it shows that the 1st ‘waw’ is silent and the second ‘waw’, which may or may not be represented, is articulated. If there were not a silent [ו] ‘waw’ the name יהושע would be pronounced Yahusha. The problem is – Yahusha is not transliterated into Greek. If it were, it would be ίηουσ* [IHOUS[*], which is not found anywhere in scripture.

How is Yah'shua transliterated into Greek? Yah’shua is transliterated as [ίησου / ΙΗΣΟΥ] the English letters being IHSOU[*w/variant endings]. As a Hebrew name, it's always articulated as a Hebrew name [w/the final 'ah'] regardless of the Greek variant endings. Other Hebrew names are: Adam, Abraham, Sarah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Samuel and many others!

Why is Yah’shua written with an apostrophe? Because the apostrophe represents the silent [ו] ‘waw’.

Why isn't it pronounced YAHUSHUA [or YAHOSHUA]? Because the Greek does not not support it. If the Greek did support YAHUSHUA [or YAHOSHUA], it would be transliterated as IHOUSOU[*] to articulate both ‘waws’ with a double [ou] diphthong, but it can't be found in either the LXX or the GNT.

A word about the [ou] diphthong. The Greek “ou”, called a diphthong, are not two separately articulated letters, but a joined combination with a single articulation, which in this case represents the long “U” sound of the Hebrew [ו] ‘waw’ in Yah’shUa. Because the Greek is a joined combination with a single articulation, the ‘ou’ cannot be separated without altering the pronunciation. That is not the case with the ‘iu’ in Iesius, because Iesius already articulated the ‘u’ as a short ‘u’ as in ‘us’. Deleting the ‘i’ dropped the ‘ee’ sound, changing Iᾱ-see-ῠs, to Iē-sῠs which became “Jē-sῠs”.

Why should the Greek be considered? Because even though the evangels were first recorded in Hebrew, Yahweh chose to preserve the testimony of Messiah and the early believers in the Greek language.

This shows that “Yah’shua” is the true prophetic human name of Messiah.

WHO DO YOU WORSHIP?

Who is “God” according to the largest Christian organization on earth, the Roman Catholic Church?

God: ...the common or generic name of the several supposed beings to whom, in polytheistic religions, Divine attributes, are ascribed and Divine worship rendered; The root-meaning of the name (from Gothic root gheu; Sanskrit hub or emu, "to invoke or to sacrifice to") is either "the one invoked" or "the one sacrificed to." From different Indo-Germanic roots (div, "to shine" or "give light"; thes in thessasthai "to implore") come the Indo-Iranian deva, Sanskrit dyaus (gen. divas), Latin deus, Greek theos, Irish and Gaelic dia, all of which are generic names; also Greek Zeus (gen. In other words, the RCC knows that God is demonic, and has absolutely nothing to do with Yahweh, the Creator and Savior of all things!

There is a disconnect between knowledge and practice in the RCC and it's Protestant offshoots. Did you notice that “God” is also identified as Zeus? That gives us a direct clue regarding why the RCC & Xtianity in general are addicted to the name IESUS, aka Jesus, because Zeus had a son named IESIUS which is shortened in the Latin to IESUS, then changed in the mid 17th century to JESUS!

That means that Jesus (or any name with an E in it) is not referring to the true Messiah!

The Greek “theos” is identified as demonic entity, and has been associated with Zeus for more than two hundred years before Messiah [see Cleanthes' Hymn to Zeus, c.230BCE]. Moreover, all the Greek texts of both the LXX and the New Testament, have been corrupted, either ignorantly or surreptitiously, with Greek appellations to Zeus! 

Does that mean that our bibles are worthless? Absolutely not! It just means that we must take our study more seriously, digging out things like this so that we follow in the example of the Bereans:

Acts 17:10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Long before Constantine [c.300CE] and the RCC came along there was another savior other than Yah'shua being preached [2Cor 11:3-4] with another message [Gal 1:6], so it wasn't just about a "name", but about WHO was being preached, which probably started with Simon Magus, the magician of Samaria, who, though immersed [see Acts 8:9-24], never received the spirit of sanctification, and went out from the Apostles. 

John tells us:
1John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist [anti-messiah] shall come, even now are there many antichrists [anti-messiahs] ; whereby we know that it is the last time.19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 

Simon Magus went to Rome, and took on the moniker "PeTeR", which in Hebrew means -that with opens the womb. So Simon Magus became known as “Simon Peter”, the originator of Christianity! -- which, incidentally, was in 33CE, just 2 years after Messiah's resurrection.

Yet, even before Simon Magus, “God” was known very anciently throughout the Middle East, even as far back as Isaiah's time [circa 700BCE].

Isaiah 65:11 But ye are they that forsake YAHWEH, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for God, and that furnish the drink offering unto Mene.

Clearly Yahweh, the Creator, the Holy One of Israel, is distinctly different from “God'. 

The name “God” is the Hebrew word “goode”, meaning to divide, attack and invade, so “God” is the one that Divides & Conquers. No surprise that Satan corrupted a third of the angelic realm! [Rev 12:4]

The Septuagint [LXX], translated about 250 BCE, which is the Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures and done by Jewish translators, translates “God” as “to daimoni” – “the demon”!

This knowledge has been available for more than twenty-two hundred years! Yet, Christianity knowingly follows God!

In E.W.Bullinger's Companion Bible, his marginal note on Isaiah 65:11 identifies “God” as an Assyrian demon. 

Plus, James Strong, author of Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, identifies “God” [#1408] as a Babylonian demonic entity.

We may rightly conclude that Satan, the Devil, enjoys great popularity through the name “God”! 

Yahweh says that He wants everyone to worship Him in spirit AND in truth!

John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 Yahweh is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
